New York, July 31th, 2011 – Tom Salta, one of the most decorated and prolific music composers for multimedia, has produced an original music score and percussive soundscape for the highly acclaimed Ubisoft video game FROM DUST. Salta is renowned for crafting unique and immersive scores for the medium (Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands Wii, Red Steel) and delivers a rich organic musical palette of unique percussive-based textures that represent the tribal inhabitants in FROM DUST.

FROM DUST is the latest original game concept by Eric Chahi, creator of the cult classic, Another World / Out of this World. Set in an exotically beautiful and dangerous world, players control the destiny of a primitive tribe against the backdrop of a world in constant evolution, a universe where mighty Nature reclaims what is hers; and your mastery of the elements is your people’s only chance of survival.

Salta worked with world-renowned percussionists Bashiri Johnson and Kimati Dinizulu to create primitive and organic rhythms and sounds that become part of the environment in FROM DUST and allow its inhabitants to control nature with music. The main theme provides contrast with the music of the tribes to symbolize the passage of time and the indifference of nature. For the narrative-driven sequences and main theme Salta wrote and recorded string orchestra to further immerse players in the cinematic experience.
